INDUSTRY ALERT – Fuel Tax Credits Increase from 1 February 2017
The Civil Contractors Federation hereby advises that fuel tax credit rates will increase for fuel acquired from 1 February 2017 in line with fuel excise duty rate changes. The new rates are available in the Australian Taxation Office rates table, which is now easier to read.
Fuel tax credit rates change regularly. To ensure you claim the right and full amount that you are entitled to, you can:
- use the ATO fuel tax credit calculator online or on the ATO app;
- use the ATO simpler ways to calculate fuel tax credit claims and keep records;
- follow the ATO tips to avoid common errors made on fuel tax credit claims.
You can also keep up to date with the rate changes by subscribing to the Small business newsroom (select ‘GST and Excise’), Tax professionals newsroom or following the ATO on Facebook and Twitter.
